Our assessment
Power banks are one of our best-selling products in reselling — and one of the most misunderstood. The advertised mAh figure says little about how many times a device can actually be fully charged, because capacity is lost during voltage conversion.
We measured this in practice with the VoltCore: in our test, it reliably charged a phone with a 4,500 mAh battery fully four and a half times before the power bank itself ran out — a realistic and good result for the stated capacity.
The built-in display is an underrated detail: instead of four rough LED dots, it shows remaining charge accurate to 5%, which makes trip planning noticeably easier.
