Our assessment
Car phone mounts are a classic complaint-generator in the reselling business — usually because the suction cup comes off the windshield after a few weeks. The GripStand is one of the few models where we’ve largely been spared that complaint.
The silicone suction cup holds reliably on both the windshield and the smooth dashboard. Alternatively, the mount can be clipped into the air vents, which is the more reliable choice on uneven windshields.
Clamping the phone in works one-handed via a spring mechanism — even with most protective cases, as long as they’re not extremely bulky.
